And Adam calleth the name (שֵׁ֥ם, shem) of his woman Eve: for she hath been mother of all living.
Gen. 3:20 YLT Literal
Christ calls the name of his Bride-to-be “Eve” because she is the Mother of all Living. Yet “Eve” doesn’t mean “life” as the lexicons put it.
Her name in Hebrew, חַוָּה, Chavah is from the verb חָוָה, chavah. The verb means “to tell”. This verb is found in a strikingly relevant verse:
Day to day pours forth/flows (navah) speech, And night to night tells (chavah) knowledge. Psalm 19:2 Literal Translation
You would think that the word “pours forth/flows” would be used in all sorts of contexts in Scripture, yet it is only used in the context of speech from the mouth in the Hebrew scriptures, about 11 times. This is meant to get you to think about the allegorical relationship between speech and water (James 3:10-11). What is it about Night that relates to Eve, the Mother of all Living? The Countings of Heaven.
Think real hard about this one: Chavah, the Mother of all Living, is the Name of God’s Son Jesus Christ.
And this is His commandment, that we should believe in the name of His Son, Jesus Christ, and we should love one another, just as He gave the commandment to us. 1 John 3:23 BLB
We are called by his own name, Life. Hence, Mother of all Living. Think real hard…
And now, thus said Yahweh, Thy Creator, O Jacob, and thy Fashioner, O Israel, Be not afraid, for I have redeemed thee, I have called you by your name — Mine you are! Isa. 43:1 Literal
If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves… 2 Chron. 7:14 KJV
And this is His commandment, that we should believe in the name of His Son…. 1 John 3:23 BLB
