Let’s look at more epic translation fails.
1 John 3:9
No one born of God makes a practice of sinning… ESV
Those who are children of God do not continue to sin… GNT
No one who is born of God will continue to sin… NIV
No one who is born of God practices sin… NASB
Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; KJV
My God! Which one is it!?!
This is classic meat-grinder theology at work. This is bias compounded. It’s this kind of BS-ing with scriptures that destroys souls. This one will put a man into shackles faster than a radical feminist with hand-cuffs—“Do come in, weary traveler, and partake of my delicatessen of delights. We’ll make love all night, with parties, parades, festivals, and good sensual feels, while your soul rots in shame and bondage underneath my adulterous shadow!”
The old translations are right. The KJV and other “outdated” translations agree with the literal:
every one who hath been begotten of God, sin he doth not… 1 John 3:9 YLT
If you are born from above (John 3:3 YLT), you cannot sin or transgress the Law because the Law is far below you. You are now a judge, a law-giver. When you were told such and such a thing is a sin, you were being held under the Law, captive to it. In order to transgress the Law you have to be underneath it. In order to break Chinese law, you have to live there. Were you born from below? There is bad news for you. Were you born from above? You are the wisest of all people out there. Paul was actually quite plain when he said “where there is no Law, there is no transgression” You cannot be a law-breaker/sin-committer if there is no Law over you to break. It’s really simple. If a Chinese man comes to America and tells me I am breaking Chinese Law by possessing Bibles, he is assuming that I both have knowledge of that Law and am under that Law. Neither of which is true. I am therefore no law breaker of the Chinese Law. It does not have jurisdiction over me.
Being a sinner or transgressor is only possible when you are under the Law and have knowledge of it:
Because the law worketh wrath: for where no law is, there is no transgression. Romans 4:15 KJV
People may be animals, or wicked, or perverse, but they are not sinners or transgressors unless they place themselves under the jurisdiction of God’s Law.
I was once alive apart from the Law; but when the commandment came, sin became alive and I died; Romans 7:9 NASB
God did not put the whole planet or all the kingdoms of man under his jurisdiction. He put one, tiny nation under it. The kingdom of men is not the sons of disobedience. They have no knowledge of the rules. One must be under the rule in order to disobey it. The death under the Law is what is necessary to set you free from its shadow of bondage. This is a wildly fascinating paradox of what it really means for a “sin-offering to be crouching at your doorway” (Gen. 4:7 YLT)
Yet if it had not been for the law, I would not have known sin. For I would not have known what it is to covet if the law had not said, “You shall not covet.” Romans 7:7 YLT
You cannot covet if you don’t know what it is! That is the paradox of sin. You cannot sin, unless you know something about it. Unless you eat from the tree of knowledge of good and evil you cannot die from it.
God is not going to judge humanity as sinners/transgressors if,
apart from the Law, sin is dead. Romans 7:8 KJV
where no law is, there is no transgression. Romans 4:15 KJV
The wrath of God is specifically to those whom hold the truth:
the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against the unrighteousness of men who hold the truth… Romans 1:18 KJV
By this Law your very entanglement with the harlot church is sin. You must be born of Heaven if you want to escape this wrath. God does not get angry at darkness, but gets angry with disobedience. By putting yourself under the Law—the paradox of sin coming alive—you are making yourself a sinner/transgressor/son of disobedience. You must die. And if you don’t believe and so become born from above you will perish in the wrath that is to be revealed..
“I have not come to call the righteous but sinners [those under the law] to repentance.” Luke 5:32
Humanity is not merely caught in darkness, it is darkness. It is the Sea which rises from the depths. It will be dealt with in an altogether different manner than those to whom the Law came. Those in the Sea never ate from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. They, creatures of instinct (2 Pet. 2:12, Jude 1:10), know nothing of the difference. Many are destroyed by their own instincts.
This is not license to sin, because again, you are above the Law, you cannot commit sin. As in, it is not possible. If you are born from above (John 3:3 YLT), you cannot sin or transgress the Law because the Law is far below you. You are now a judge, a law-giver. You are no longer a thief, if now all things belong to you (1 Cor. 3:21-22) but neither do we need bother holding on to anything and are that much more free to give everything away than everyone else. When you were told such and such a thing is a sin, you were being held under the Law, captive to it. In order to transgress the Law you have to be underneath it. What does this ultimately mean for our lives?
All things to me are lawful, but all things are not profitable; all things to me are lawful, but all things do not build up; 1 Corinthians 10:23 YLT
This means by your faith, believing, you are given the highest responsibility possible. Dominion over everything. All things are yours, including zoe-life and Death itself. You cannot teach a son or daughter wisdom without first giving them the freedom to exercise it. You subjected yourself to the schoolmaster, born through Hagar, and cursed, but now are no longer under the schoolmaster (Gal. 3:24 NET). People are stuck trying to figure out whether it is a sin to do this or that, when God is waiting to give them the very keys to Death itself. Have you thought about what you will do with that? All the questions of sex, marriage, divorce, lust, conduct among the heathen, etc. which drive people insane are no longer constrained by any law save one: the law of Life. Having been set free, the answers are simple. What is wise? What is profitable? What builds up? What is stupid? The decision is yours to make. It is no longer that you looked at some woman desirably, but now are you looking at that woman wisely? It’s no longer a question of did you or didn’t you but how are you? If you are unable to make such decisions, you are not going to make a good ruler. That is why the inheritance is specially for the seed of Jacob, the chosen Elect. They are the Bride that has made herself ready. This is not living in hedonism or lasciviousness as though it sets you free to be an instinct-driven animal but is rather living according to wisdom as a Heaven-born son or daughter of the Most High. And don’t worry, you are sure to be called a fool for living this way,
Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seems to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise. For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God… 1 Cor. 3:18-19 NASB
You will no longer be viewed as obedient/disobedient because you died to the Law, you don’t live there anymore. Yet and now, finally, your wise conduct will show itself…
But wisdom is justified of her children. Matt 11:19 KJV
