Heaven—as the Countings waiting to be unleashed, the Elect predestined to govern (Isa. 9:6) the new world of the regeneration (Matt. 19:28), and not an intergalactic place somewhere beyond the Milky Way only reachable by the Star Trek Enterprise—is an abode of authority. For much of the history of Western Civilization, Christianity has been ruling the present world. The prosperity of Christianity has been unmatched. First it was Constantine. Then the Vatican. Then Protestant America. Wherever the Bible has gone, there has always been birds of prey hovering over it to make sure you are “reading it correctly”. The seats of power in Christianity are constantly taken by force, violently, especially where the power is great. This is what has led to the most corrupt Church of historical Christianity—the American Church. It rakes in some fifty billion dollars a year in tithes, and throws untold amounts more towards “missions”, lobbying and political activism. The new fear of what’s been called “Christian Nationalism” was their own fault. It is now a walking target marked out for desolation and they still don’t get it.
As there is such thing as spiritual murder, there is such thing as spiritual violence. I have seen more than my share of church rulers ostracized, fired, or kicked out because of the most ridiculous reasons, or petty disputes over doctrine. It is treacherous. Heaven is taken by violence. The pulpit is a Hamburger Hill with blood shed all around it. Men force their way into it. They battle each other for the best positions. It is always been like this. Many are trampled on in the process. The high seats are always given to the John Eldredge’s, the Rick Warrens, the Ravi Zacharias’s, and the Pope’s. Make way, roll out the red carpet.
The Bible and those who hear it are humble and do not seek great things for themselves because they hear it. They understand what God is really saying when he says hate your mother/father. They don’t add words to it to make it sound better. They don’t read “greet the brothers with a holy kiss” and then try to apply it. They read and hear it. What a huge difference. “Applying” scriptures is not hearing by faith. Being faithful to church practices is not faith. Hearing is faith, and faith comes by hearing.
The spirit behind the powers and wealth of Christianity is not what you think. Subjecting yourself therein will work you into a son of disobedience in no time. Do not even touch it (2 Cor. 6:17).
in which once ye did walk according to the age of this world, according to the ruler of the authority of the air, of the spirit that is now working in the sons of disobedience.
Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns
And Jesus said to him, “Foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay his head.
There are underground cults and there are public castle-chapels dominated by rulers. Both are no place for the son of man (another prophetic term for a disciple of Christ) and in particular the head which would be the governing authority of Christ Body, the Heavens. “Air” more or less answers to the Hebrew “expanse” of Heaven. The Birds were created to fly upon the expanse of Heaven:
And God said, “Let the waters swarm with swarms of living creatures, and let birds fly above[Heb. in] the earth across the expanse of the heavens.” Gen. 1:20 ESV
In particular, the birds of prey are the ones which are unclean (Lev. 11).
