“I cannot endure the sorrow and assembly” Isaiah 1:13

“You are not causing to increase to bring in an offering! Empty incense of abomination she is to me!  New moon and sabbath, to call convocations– I am not enduring sorrow and the solemn assembly.”

Isaiah 1:13 literal

The Hebrew אָוֶן, aven #205, should be translated sorrow rather than “iniquity”. Not all sorrow is good sorrow. There are two sorrows.

For sorrow according to God works reformation unto salvation without regret: but the worldly sorrow works death.

2 Corinthians 7:10 literal

One sorrow has works of death, the other sorrow has works of reformation.
