Brutchko by Bruce Olson ★★★★★

51uewgvigsl-_sx331_bo1204203200_A nineteen year old does a truly courageous thing, risking his life to share the Gospel with one of the most dangerous tribes This was one of the first christian books I ever read way back when I was about the same age as Bruce in this story. I was struck by his passion, faith, and courage and basically wanted to be just like him! (In fact, I had my own run-in later on with bushmen who held me up with bows and arrows, but thankfully I never got shot!) He pressed on in obedience to the will of God in the face a whole lot of opposition and never gave up as tough as things got. Truly inspiring.

“Bruchko, which has sold more than 300,000 copies worldwide, has been called “more fantastic and harrowing than anything Hollywood could concoct.” Living with the Motilone Indians since 1961, Olson has won the friendship of four presidents of Colombia and has made appearances before the United Nations because of his efforts. Bruchko includes the story of his 1988 kidnapping by communist guerrillas and the nine months of captivity that followed. This revised version of Olson’s story will amaze you and remind you that simple faith in Christ can make anything possible.”
