1981: Thomas Sowell On Wage Gap and Racial Discrimination

I find it very intriguing to listen to debates and discussions from forty or fifty years ago for at least two reasons:

  1. The discussions are incredibly respectful and civilized on both sides compared to today’s.
  2. You find that a lot of the questions and debates are around the exact same issues as today and that the arguments have hardly changed.

Current Issues are often just recycled ones, are they not? There’s nothing new under the sun but it’s easy to make it seem that way so long as you can tuck the past away under a rug.
